01The situation
Partners wrote each proposal largely from scratch, borrowing sections from earlier documents they had to find first.
Pricing needed sign-off, which meant an email thread that often sat for days.
Turnaround averaged nine days. Work was lost to competitors who responded inside a week.
02What we did
We indexed several years of past proposals and built a drafting assistant that produces a first version from a short brief, using the firm's own language and structure.
Pricing approval moved out of email into a short structured step with a clear owner and a visible queue.
Every proposal is still read and priced by a person before it goes out. That was non-negotiable for the partners, and it is also the right call.
03What changed
Turnaround dropped to about two days, most of which is now review rather than drafting.
The firm sends roughly three times as many proposals per month with the same partners.
Nothing leaves without human pricing approval, and the approval step is now visible instead of buried in a thread.
